Don't listen to reviews about sharks - Jaws Reviews
Jaws is great. It is my favorite movie of all time. It has fantastic acting, outstanding story and is entertaining. Jaws is a cinematic masterpeice no matter what anyody says. And despite what some may tell you about sharks, the storyline of a rouge great white attacking humans is totally plausible.
As a matter of fact the whole concept was based upon the 1916 New Jersy shark attacks in which five people were killed, two of them in a river. The whole story was just Peter Benchleys modern interpretation of the incedent. Also to say that sharks don't attack people is a lie, the people that give it bad reviews on that basis are wrong to judge that way. Yes statistically it won't happen, but it has happened and may happen again. And to say that the movie promotes the killing of sharks also is false because in essence it turns people on to the ideas of sharks and maybe even promotes learning. After all, I love to learn about sharks and this is due mostly to Jaws. Also to go and say that Jaws is a bad movie based upon one thing or another is to go and say that Gili is a classic sotry which everybody loves. If you're going bash a shark movie for promoting the killing and fear of sharks attack one without any truth and had bad acting and storlines, like Deep Blue Sea.
As for the visuals of the movie, yes, the shark can look fake. However if compared to claymation and CGI, the shark is a hell of a lot more real. (Seriosly, CGI still looks fake no matter how detailed it is) Even still, the movie is less about the shark and the attacks and more about the three main characters, Cheif Brody, Matt Hooper, and Quint stuck on a boat. That is the meat of the story, and the movie. The shark is there just to heighten their beleaveabilty of the acting, which was awesome to begin with.
