Jaws - Jaws Reviews

Jaws is definently a thriller. For people who like horror related films, this is the movie for you. The story is direct, along with its direction. Acting is oustanding, and its visuals are above most. Over all, the movie was suberb. It is definently a classic.

Unlike any other movie in history - Jaws Reviews

When film genius (Spielberg) tells book genius', (Benchley's) story of a killer shark that terrorizes a New England town, on the silver screen, cinema magic occurs. Spielberg made a genius decision to cast an all-star group of actors: Scheider, Gary, Dreyfuss, and Shaw. Scheider holds a top leading male performance (in my book)-- as he plays a cheif of police who is forced to face the deep waters he dreads. JAWS will leave you afraid... Never before has a film made millions afraid of nature's largest preditor... and the ocean! From the opening scene-- where a shark devours a midnight swimmer, to the heroic ending, JAWS captivates it's viewers in all aspects of the word. JAWS has (and will continue) to go down in cinema history... and JAWS will 'grab' your inner phobias. As a friend once stated, 'JAWS MADE ME AFRAID OF MY OWN BATHTUB!' Well put.

Best movie ever!!!! - Jaws Reviews

Jaws! The movie that even today after 31 years is still frightening people of all ages to even step into an ocean. This is the one of the best Steven Spielberg movies of all time. The movie starts out with a young girl named Chrissie who decides to go skinny dipping in the ocean at night( the time when sharks feed) while being followed by a drunk guy who likes her. As she is swimming happily in the water wanted the drunken guy to come swim with her something pulls on her leg thrashing her around back and forth until finally she gets drug under and never seen again. The drunken guy seems to not know what just happen because he was drunk. Later we meet Chief Martin Brody who is chief of police of Amity(the setting of the movie). He investigates the death of the girl. Later he is on a beach while a little boy gets eaten while riding a body raft thing. He calls down oceanographer Matt Hooper who himself looks at the girls dismembered body and believes that it was indeed a shark that ate both the girl and boy. After a couple more attacks Martin Brody, Matt Hooper, and Quint( a shark hunter) go out to find the shark and kill it. At the end their is a showdown with Martin and the shark. Excellent movie. Reccomend to distant relatives. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. You'll love it, I guarantee it!

Ekkkkkk - Jaws Reviews

I will never go swimming in the beach again. even if it is 3 ft deep in 10 feet out. NEVER AGAIN! If you see this movie for the first time, prepair to jump a few feet high and have a pillow to hide under.

Another great movie from spielberg - Jaws Reviews

Jaws tells a story about a shark that is hunting prey off the East Coast. Scheider, Dreyfuss, and Shaw try killing this beast. A great film by Spielberg. I own it. I like it. I do watch it.

Steven's best - Jaws Reviews

This, in my opinion is one of the greatest movies of all time. The chances that were taken to make the film and the great performence by Robert Shaw, who wasnt even picked first for the role, set it aside from many. For that time the visuals were the best by far.Nobody would have thought a robotic shark on a crane would lead to a Best Picture nom and a fear of going into the water.

Best shark movie of all time - Jaws Reviews

This was the best shark movie i have seen! Open water was crap compared to Jaws.Spielberg really made a good movie. The visuals were horrid but the action was suspense full.

Sweetness!!!! - Jaws Reviews

Jaws Even though ?Jaws? was made 30 years ago and is filled with fake special effects and a hardly believable plot, this incredibly well known movie still gets the screams and the laughs that it deserves. The plot is known around the world. A killer shark is lurking in the peaceful waters surrounding Amity Island. Despite the numerous attacks that include a little boy, a dog and a teenage girl, the mayor of the island Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) refuses to close the beach because tourism is so important to the island?s economy. After the beach is opened to the Fourth of July crowd and a man is killed, the mayor signs a contract that allows a local shark catcher, Quint (Robert Shaw) to search for the shark and kill the eating machine. Along with Quint, the resident Police Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) and oceanographer Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) set sail to find the shark and destroy it. ?Jaws? has few faults. Each actor plays their part as if it was written specifically for them. The actors helped paint the picture and making the story believable. The terror in their eyes is real and the feelings they show are genuine. When Shaw describes the night that changed his life forever he causes the viewer to believe that Shaw actually experienced the event; the far away look in his eyes, the crack in his voice and the crease in his brow. When Scheider is faced with the problem of knowing the killer shark is still in the waters when no one believes him, the stress shows under his eyes. Not for a moment do you remember that Scheider is a million-dollar actor. He is only the police chief who is afraid of the water and for his children's safety. My personal favorite is Dreyfuss. He plays his part flawlessly. He is always cracking jokes that make the audience laugh, but when the need comes he screams along with the rest of us. I found him to be the most believable character in the situation. He was curious about the shark but when it was about to bite off his leg, he was still scared out of his mind. The technical aspect of ?Jaws? is outdated but still adds a lot to the movie. The world known music signals the approach of the underwater terror and allows the viewer to shield their eyes. Every time the ?Jaws? theme song sounds, terror runs down my spine. The camera angles are creative and give ?Jaws? an interesting angle. The only time when I was reminded that I was just a person watching a movie was when the camera was in the water and water splashed onto the lens. Also there were times when you could see the sound crew in the reflection of the window. I would rate ?Jaws" a four and a half out of five. Since viewing it, ?Jaws? has become my second favorite movie. Although it was made 30 years ago, I find that every time the shark waits open mouthed as Quint slides down the deck toward him, I still scream in enjoyment and fright.

Not what i expected - Jaws Reviews

DEFINATLY NOT WHAT I EXCPECTED i expected a boring shark movie, with the shark just eating everything in sight(oh how"cool"(sarcasm)) but no i saw a great shark movie the effects were pretty cool for a 70's movie, so yes the movie was pretty good.

True classic with stuning effects - Jaws Reviews

Even though this movie is old it still is very visually appealling. Classic story, good acting, and outstanding direction by Steven Spielberg. The personnallity of the characters are ver well acted out and satisfying. But the visuals will blow you away. You can almost never tell the shark in the movie is a robot, and for a movie this old that is truely a work of art. I highely recommend this movie to everyone expectially to the ongoing thriller seekers.

A fantastic movie - Jaws Reviews

Jaws is one of my all time favorite monster films. The acting was first rate as was the direction of Steven Spielberg in one of his first films ever. It quickly became the first blockbuster hit and paved the way for making summertime the season for blockbusters. What makes Jaws so good was the way Spielberg was able to build suspense and hold back on showing the shark too much. This is what makes the best horror movies. It's not what you see so much as what you imagine. He also sprinkled his masterpiece with believable actors which gave the film its strong narrative drive. We even get an unforgettable story from Robert Shaw (who plays Quint) that explains why he hates sharks so much. The special effects were good for their time, but what makes this movie so memorable was the story, the direction, and the actors. And lets not forget the unforgettable Jaws theme by John Willams which only adds to the movies already incredible scare factor. Jaws is still my favorite monster movie and has yet to be matched. Of course 1979s Alien comes real close, and the original Halloween isn't far behind either.

Horror just can't get better than this - Jaws Reviews

A true scary movie, said to be even more shocking than "The Exorcist". It is truly shocking and will make you jump, but also one of those movies that won Best Picture, a horror movie. You have to buy it on DVD, also one of the 20 scariest movies ever and Number 1# in the 100 most shocking moments ever.
